ARTIST ANDREA IPAKTCHI
Artist Andrea Ipaktchi is originally from the USA and currently lives in Paris.
She draws, paints and writes. She works with both digital and traditional techniques such as printmaking techniques, egg tempera, pastel, inks, and collage. She also creates live/on-stage digital set designs for a musical comedy improv show.
Andrea strives to convey a sense of lightness while tackling darker themes such as isolation, rejection, and disorder.
In 2015, she was shortlisted for a European contest young people’s literature contest called “Undiscovered Voices” for her panel illustrations. In 2016 she won the Beaux Arts 1st Prize at an art competition at Galerie Metanoia in Paris. In January 2019 she had the honor to attend Tyrone Guthrie Artists Residency in Annamakerrig, Ireland for three weeks in their printmaking and drawing studios.
She holds a BFA in Illustration from Parsons School of Design and attends graphic novel courses at CESAN School of Narrative Arts in Paris.
She was Illustration Coordinator for the SCBWI-France from 2015-2018.
